Mother-Baby Unit

Our Mother-Baby Unit features 16 spacious private suites that allow for the family being together at one of the most important times in their lives. We also offer an Antepartum & Gynecology Unit and a Well Baby Nursery.

Multiple newborn screenings are given here in this unit as well as access to the lactation consultant if desired.

Tours of the perinatal floor are given during the Tiny Toes childbirth classes at the hospital.

Labor & Delivery Unit

When the time comes to deliver we have 10 labor & delivery rooms with three beds for triage/recovery. ARMC's mother/baby area has 21 private rooms with a pull-out chair/bed for our expectant fathers.

Expectant moms are encouraged to tour our maternity department and meet our experienced staff. You may ask our staff any questions you have related to your day of delivery. To schedule a tour, please call Abilene Regional Medical Center at 325-428-3500, or click here to RSVP.

If you are planning on delivering your baby at Abilene Regional, please familiarize yourself with the newly implemented Security System and Limited Access policy of this unit:

Security System Implementation & Initiation of Limited Access

On January 13, 2005, policies were initiated in the Labor and Delivery unit of the hospital to increase the privacy and security of our patients. Access to Labor and Delivery will be limited.

  • All patients scheduled for an induction or cesarean section enter through the front lobby and report to the 3rd floor nurse's station directly across from the east elevators.
  • Patients that are in labor or need to be seen in Labor and Delivery enter through the emergency room. You will be escorted to Labor and Delivery.
  • Your "coach" and two visitors may accompany you to your labor room. Your visitors will be given identification tags to be worn during your stay in Labor and Delivery, which must be returned.
  • We ask that all other family members and visitors remain in the waiting room.
  • Siblings of the baby may visit and must have continuous adult supervision.
  • Visiting hours are at any time the mother is in Labor and Delivery.

If you have any questions, please contact the Director of Perinatal Services.
